We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic mobile maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our customers fleets operating smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, axles, electrical components and HVAC systems.
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
• Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding, assembly, and modifications to enhance equipment functionality or repair damaged parts.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, heavy duty trucks and other machinery safely and efficiently during repair or maintenance procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Use power tools and hand tools effectively for disassembly, assembly, welding, and other repair tasks.
• Work and think independently, resolving customer issues on-site.

Skills

• Proven experience or extensive background in heavy truck and trailer repair and diagnostics.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and vehicle electrical systems.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and equipment assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics for complex machinery like tractors, farm machinery, and heavy trucks.
• Experience operating equipment such as medium/heavy duty trucks, trailers, and forklifts safely in a maintenance setting.
• Familiarity with electrical system repair and diesel mechanics is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate clearly about technical issues to clients.
• Capable of heavy lifting safely while performing brake service or equipment repairs in various environments.
